Welcome to the IU Chicago Advancement Office

The IU Chicago Advancement Office is here for you, offering unique IU experiences, opportunities to learn, chances to network with your IU friends and family, and ways you can give back to help IU stay at the forefront of higher education.

With our friends at the Chicago IU Alumni Chapter, we host a variety of enrichment and cultivation activities, panels and seminars, and regional and suburban networking opportunities. Regardless of the campus or program you hold dear, we’re here to serve you!

We invite you to join us in advancing IU, bringing the things we love about our alma mater to Chicago.

Create opportunities for the next generation

Gifts to IU help write the life stories of future doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, scientists, and nonprofit leaders. They help the university recruit and retain world-renowned expertise and develop state-of-the-art facilities. And they help advance groundbreaking research and life-enhancing discovery. There are many ways you can support IU.

Fill your calendar with IU events

A great way to meet fellow alumni and connect with IU is to attend one of our upcoming events. Can't wait to see you!

Get together with us

The Indiana University Chicago Advancement office sponsors a number of opportunities for alumni and friends to connect with each other.

  • IU Experiences

Spend time with our IU experts, including deans, professors, artists, scientists, athletes, musicians, and more, right here at your own doorstep. Or, come and meet stars from our very own IU alumni galaxy. Whatever the nature of our experiences, we’re bringing them to you, up close and personal. We’re always open for new ideas on topics and experiences, so if you have any you would like to share with us, please contact us at 312-216-4600 or iuchiadv@indiana.edu

  • Neighborhood Nights

IU comes to you, right in the heart of your city or suburban neighborhood! Mix and mingle with alumni and friends at neighborhood gatherings throughout the city and suburbs. While you’re at it, enjoy your first beer or glass of wine and delicious appetizers on us.

  • Recognition Society Events

We like to say a heartfelt thanks to our loyal supporters, and one of the best ways we do that Chicago-style is our bi-annual Crimson Connection event. Chicagoland donors to IU who belong to one of four different IU Foundation recognition societies are invited to meet a special guest while enjoying scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, special beers, and select wines. In 2013, a presentation by Calbert Cheaney, IU basketball great and former assistant IU director of basketball operations and student athletes, entertained and inspired us all. We hope to see you at our future recognition events!

  • Seminars and Panels

We will tap all kinds of talent to bring you seminars and expert panels on timely topics such as executive coaching, career transitions and job searches, and retirement and estate planning for women, to name a few.

  • Hosting

Ever wonder what it would be like to bring IU right into your own home? Well, maybe it’s never occurred to you, but those who have hosted say there is nothing quite like connecting with familiar faces and new IU friends in the comfort of home. Or, you can always host a game watch, alumni reception, or special guest presenter at your home or a favorite spot nearby.

  • Travel

Don’t forget to check out the IU Alumni Association’s special travel opportunities where you can join other IU alumni and friends to see and learn about the world outside of Chicagoland.

Volunteer with us

We welcome all IU alumni and friends to volunteer for various events and networking activities. There are numerous ways to get involved and stay connected with IU!

  • Network with IU

Hosting an event or program is a fantastic way to connect with fellow IU alumni and expand your personal or professional network. Here are a couple of other ways:

    Career Minded

Is your company hiring? Do you want talented IU alumni on your staff? The Career Minded program is an avenue to connect IU alumni, and their respective Chicago companies, with other IU alumni looking for career opportunities. Not hiring now? Career Minded is also a platform to provide professional development training to your staff. A partnership with the Career and Professional Development team at IUAA, let IU work for you to help grow and strengthen your business.

    IN Balance

IN Balance, a programmatic partnership with IU Women’s Philanthropy, focuses on creating intimate, in-home gatherings hosted by IU alumnae. Activate your IU network and meet other alumni with similar interests and backgrounds. Let IU be a resource for you to learn, grow and connect.
